I had my daughter here on 6/26/16, my birth went fine, it was the postpartum recovery that was bad. They will report you to DSS/CPS for any little thing. They reported me for 3 things. Drug use, mental capacity, and medical neglect. Now let me explain.
Scheduled to have a procedure there in June, may have to reconsider using this facility/hospital. Uncomfortable, with care. Martha Jefferson has declined in excellence of care. Unfortunate.
Staff not compassionate to patient. Did not care about patients concerns or fears.
The mental capacity thing was when they came in and asked if I had any history of postpartum depression, to which I JOKINGLY said no, but the year my oldest daughter was born we (used to live with my mom and grandma) were snowbound in Detroit with no car and had "cabin fever".
I love Martha Jefferson! Dr. Levit saved my wife's life twice. Their Labor & Delivery staff are amazing. Shout out to Kathy R who patiently answered all of our new-parent baby questions. 2 Days in the hospital in 2016 and 5 days in 2017 and we didn't have one doctor or nurse that we didn't like.
Worst hospital i have never been treated at. The ER Dr had no interest in listening to anything I said. They also took my blood then decided it did not need to be checked. So they took my blood then throw it away!!!! I never complain I just let it go but not this time especially since my symptoms are very similar to menegitis and he just wanted to give me Valium.
During my stay, I had been given IV pain meds (Staydol), and had a slight nicotine fit after my baby was born due to them taking their sweet time getting me a patch, and my baby had a little bit of nicotine withdrawal as well. So that's why they reported us for drug use.
The day after I went home, DSS knocked on our door stating we missed an appointment and they (DSS) rescheduled it but we had to leave now and meet the worker there.
The medical neglect was because they made a follow-up appointment for my daughter with Peds Associates and didn't tell us when it was so we missed it.
Do not have a baby here!
Diagnosis incorrect. No notification regarding lab results.
I despise this hospital. Right now my mom is trying to find out the status of her husband who underwent bypass surgery this morning. The hospital has failed to give her any updates despite assuring her they would. They offer no way for her to check and find out what is going on. My father went her for his stomach surgery a number of years ago. He was on coumadin. After the surgery a attending physician noted he was having some bleeding and ordered tests that forced him to lie on his back. The end result was that he nearly drowned in his blood and had to be put on a respirator for several months. All because the attending was too lazy to read my father's chart. Stay away from here if you can.
