I was a patient for approximately 3weeks. I think Albermarle Health and rehab is one of the best rehab facilities in my limited experience but there's always room for improvement.
I have never been to a health and rehab center before. Its definitely not what I expected. Its so much better than what I was prepared for.Very clean and all my needs were met with a smile. The physical therapy team was awesome, they will definitely motivate you.The nurses were awesome, and the cnas were above and beyond.I am not disappointed in my choice to come here.I highly recommend Albermarle health and rehab center to anyone. Thanks for all you do!
I have found the Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center to be a top of line facility. It provides its residents with a comfortable, attractive and we'll run experience.
The administrative staff is very nice and responsive to complaints but some patients can't complain and the staff really does need to be increased.
Wow, has this place improved! My father was initially a patient here in early 2017, my impression was that the PT AND the facility were top notch. But the patient "care" was negligent and dangerous to the point that's we hired private sitters to protect him..... But the PT/OT/ST AND facility were so superb that we decided tip stay. Fast forward 6 months, my father is back. Something has changed in the meantime. This place IS NOW FUNCTIONING WELL. There are sufficient, friendly, competent, caring staff. PT/OT/ST are still great. I only give it a 4 because my father doesn't like the food.... But hey, it's an institution. Of all the rehab choices in the area, this is now a very strong option.
I am sensitive to hygiene issues and from what I observed Albemarle is a pretty clean facility. It does not smell like a nursing home. It is bright and clean and the gym is very neat and clean and well-maintained. The worst thing in Albemarle is that they have carpeting and you can never get carpet clean they need to remove the carpeting and go with a clean hard floor.
My stay here has been both pleasant and restorative.
At albermarle they have a lot of policies and procedures that they follow strictly and I was impressed with their commitment to their ethics. I think that the procedures that they have in place are part of the reason they are so good . They also work hard to address dietary needs. I was very pleased with the care that I got their overall.
It's administrative staff, nursing, CNA assistants and physical & occupational therapists are knowledgeable and supportive. In addition, their physical therapy facilities are the best I have ever seen.
My husband was at the facility post op for a hip replacement. This was the second rehab after this surgery. The experience here was amazing. I loved that routines were implemented to ensure an easier transition home. The staff was wonderful, always helpful and professional ensuring all needs and concerns were met to the best of their ability! I would recommend this facility to all in need of this type of care.
it is a business and like any business they try to keep costs down which includes keeping their employees to a minimum. They have too few nursing assistants and they need at least one other nurse who can float or something. It was often very hard to get the attention that I needed for the duration that I needed. On the day that I was supposed to check out for instance my husband found that my left leg was swollen up and I tried to get attention but they had a shift change and a staff meeting; we ended up waiting over 2 hours for someone to give me some medication and put some compression socks on me. [A week later I was diagnosed with a blood clot which is what caused the swelling; a scan shoulf have been ordered earlier.] It is often hard to get the hel you need. The nursing assistants are required to help the patients get to the lunch room or serve them in their beds. During that time if you need to use a bedpan, need help getting ready for an appointment or any other thing that might be urgent there's no one to help you. the staff always seems rushed and I was under the impression that there was tension like they thought they would get in trouble if they weren't fast enough
