I just got married on 6/19/10 and wanted to commend Ken from Couture Design in Crozet, VA on an outstanding job with my wedding flowers. I originally approached Mr. Patterson with Patterson's Flower Shop in the summer of 2009, but began working with Ken after Mr. Patterson retired. I had always heard great things about Mr. Patterson but I loved working with Ken. He has a lot of great ideas and creativity, plus his prices are reasonable and he is willing to work with any budget. I brought in several photos of flower arrangements, bouquets and my wedding dress, and Ken came up with the most beautiful flower arrangements. In fact, I had several wedding guests come up to me at the reception complimenting the beautiful table centerpieces. Some went as far to say they were the best wedding flowers they had ever seen.
In addition to the beautiful arrangements, Ken delivered my flowers in person and made sure corsages and bouquets were delivered to the correct people. He even drove to the ceremony site and waited until all of the wedding party arrived to pin all of the flowers. Customer service is so important when looking at wedding vendors, especially with so much going on during the wedding weekend. I did not have any worries at all about my flowers, and Ken took care of anything. I would highly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding or special event.
They create beautiful flower arrangements and their wonderful staff provides consistently provides excellent service.

Ken from Couture Design was wonderful. I worked with him for my low-budget August 2010 wedding and he helped me make everything perfect. I know practically nothing about flowers, but I told him the color scheme I was going for and he had a list of flowers to choose from. I met with him at the store about 4 or 5 months before the wedding and he sent me a contract (which I easily made changes to when necessary) via email. His office manager is often easy to reach by telephone, though. Anyhow, the whole process was very easy and Ken was easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, he personally delivered all of the flowers which were labeled (by name!) with the people they were for. He set up all the tables (which included several decorations including candles - not just flowers) and the arch while I got ready for the ceremony - I didn't have to worry about a thing. I would definitely recommend Ken and Couture Design!
Please note that this review is not about the quality of flowers that were provided for my wedding, but rather, what happened afterwards. Ken and his staff were excellent to work with throughout the whole process and the flowers they brought to my wedding, though not what we had previously agreed upon, were beautiful. My issue comes from the fact that Ken disposed of all of our flowers without consulting us or giving us the chance to take them home first. He took them from the venue without notifying us and destroyed them before we even knew they were gone. When we discovered that he had taken them, we contacted him about getting my bouquet back so that we could dry it. That's when he informed us that he had already destroyed the flowers and if we wanted a new one, we would have to pay for it. The fact that this company thinks it's okay to destroy other people's property and then insist that we pay a second time means that I will not be recommending their services to anyone else. No other bride should have to go through this.
I was excited to speak with Ken from Couture Design about the flowers for my October wedding, as Mr. Patterson was a good friend of my grandmother and had done the flowers for my parent's wedding years ago. When we met, I told him that I was eager to have the same people do mine. The ideas he had and flowers he mentioned all sounded beautiful, and the package seemed well-priced for the number of arrangements I was requesting. When I left, Ken told me they'd email the proposal by the end of the week....which never happened. I figured the Easter rush had got the best of them, and emailed again a month after our meeting to remind them that I hadn't received the proposal. Once again, Ken promised he'd send it to me right away...and it was never sent. It was incredibly disappointing to be so excited about the flowers, only to feel that these people weren't interested in working with me. I decided that, particularly in this economy, vendors should be showing more interest in my business, and neglected to contact them further. To my absolute shock, last week I received an email from Couture Design with their proposal attached, a whopping FIVE months after meeting with Ken. I'm planning to spend $2200 on flowers, and I couldn't be happier that it's going to someone else, who emailed me a proposal 45 minutes after we met. I would suggest that brides find a florist who is more responsive and reliable than Couture Design - there are plenty to pick from in this area.
