Consulted with a Spine Center doctor today; my chief complaint was an inability to recover from exercise or exertion. I explained clearly that this started immediately after a neck/spine injury several years ago. I exercise, I suffer for a week. His solution? Physical Therapy and Trigger Point Injections. No diagnosis, or for that matter, even attempt to diagnose my chief complaint. Just a treatment plan that I already made clear would make me bedridden unless the primary cause for the post-exercise pain was diagnosed and addressed. Oh, and a couple of procedures to make UVA little money. I left with an appointment for a trigger point injection (I'll be cancelling), a PT prescription which I have absolutely no idea what to do with because that was never explained to me, $45 less in my bank account, and the feeling that nobody actually listened to me, but instead jumped to their own conclusions. I am disappointed beyond words, and its the last money and precious time I will waste on UVA.
