Unless currently in the process of taking allergy shots for the first time, pay Med Express to solve your allergy problems, your money will be better spent. I certainly will not be back, I will find a more helpful doctor.

After explaining that EVERY over-the-counter medication has not been effective (and believe me I have tried them all). I explained that the only medication that has historically given me ANY relief of my symptoms and had allowed me to still work is Prednisone. I have been prescribed this by my past allergist and PCP. I was refused this prescription for no other reason than they don't "normally" prescribe this for allergies. I said fine, then asked what she "normally" prescribes for severe allergy symptoms and for patients that over-the-counter medications have been ineffective for...she stated that she normally prescribes over the counter medications. Her only suggestion was to DO ANOTHER ROUND OF IMMUNOLOGY SHOTS.......?! Excuse me, but why am I paying a "specialist" to help me alleviate seasonal allergy symptoms when the only advice given is to do something I have already spent a lot of time and money on-WHICH BY THE WAY (again) WAS INEFFECTIVE and to use OVER-THE-COUNTER medication (WHICH I DO NOT NEED PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE TO OBTAIN).

I don't care WHAT she suggested, I am literally willing to try anything to solve my allergy problems and feel normal again, but no helpful advice was given, simply a shrugged me off -and- how about we try all the things you have already tried before! Pay no mind to the fact that it has failed year after year for the past 10 years!

I like the UVA Hospital because I like the doctors and nurses they are kind of nice they do what they can do for you and help you

I had previously completed 7+ years of immunology shots for my severe seasonal allergies and asthma before seeing this doctor. These barely put a dent in my symptoms. I have obviously suffered from the same symptoms for many years.

All staff was very friendly, however doctor was hardly helpful.
