We used Pampered Pets while we were in Charlottesville for a wedding. The staff was super friendly, the prices were reasonable and we loved getting a report card with info on how our dog did. Our pup was definitely tired after his stay which meant he'd gotten plenty of time to run around and play. We'll use Pampered Pets again next time we're in town!
Dropping off my dog early am, the atmosphere was so thick I don't think you could even "cut it". Very cold and uninviting. No greeting. In fact IMO, it really did seem like the ladies working there either didn't like working with each other, don't like the work they do or, just lack basic customer service skills or any combination of any of the three. When the young lady came out to take the dog to be groomed, I gave her two areas I wanted her to pay particular attention to. Now when I came back in the early afternoon to pick my dog up, the atmosphere didn't change one iota. Still cold and uninviting. My dog was brought out and I noticed right away two areas I mentioned were not done as I had requested. Really, I said nothing as I just wanted out of there. Then I got the bill. I know what grooming service charges are in the Charlottesville and surrounding areas. They are on the high end of that range. Later, I also noticed the nails were cut unevenly and some toes were not cut. I will say the body grooming looked good and that's where the one star comes in. The owner(s) and the folks working at Pampered Pets probably remember how hard it was building their business. I know too, because I had one. Hope this helps Pampered Pets owners and employees fully understand the other side of the counter better and the quality of their work they produce.
We just finished the basic good manners class with Valerie at Pampered Pets. Valerie was AMAZING! She personalized her classes to meet all of our needs, and made them fun for all (dogs and humans alike). We would definitely recommend her classes and Pampered Pets to anyone. Thank you!!!
