Sometimes they close up early for private parties, which can be frustrating when you're looking for music and dancing in a town sorely lacking avenues for both. Still, it will always be our Cheers.
It's been a while since I've been here. The last time I was here the food was good, not great. Since we have so many great resturants, and I mean really great, in Charlottesville, Rapture isn't very high on the list. What they do have is great outdoor seating, wonderful for people watching, decent drinks, and fairly good food. I've heard that brunch is very good here, but I haven't been.
I went with friends today for brunch. I had Eggs Benedict with grits. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. Locally sourced. The coffee is strong - always important. We had a great time, with a lovely brunch! I would gladly eat here again.
Hole in the wall place with decent atmosphere. Pool tables but I've never seen anyone play when I was there. Never really know what your going to get here.
Bartenders, wait staff, and kitchen staff are all on point and good people. We love the staff like family... You won't find better management on the mall anywhere, period.
The food is great, the waiters are bery friendly. Love to play pool there. The musis is for a much younger people.
This is the place to go if you want nightlife. Although their dance floor is tiny, it's always packed. Music is good, and there are pool tables. If you don't get there early you won't be playing pool however. I don't like that they make you pay so much for the cover charge, imo. You can go to the bar, play pool, and order wings (I recommend them!) without paying the cover charge. But if you want to dance, they charge you. I think that's unfair... It's not like you're in NYC and there's a great dance floor, there's not. So I've never seen the point of paying to literally use the tiny dance floor. You can just dance in the regular part of the bar.
Rapture appreciates the diversity of Charlottesville. The new chairs outside and new pool felt are good signs of improvement and of the owners making sure they invest in their business to keep their patrons happy.
