Based on my experience, I would recommend the Downtown Grille with serious reservations.
Very nice dinner at the bar, pasta with shrimp scallops ham and spinach was just too perfect. My wife had a Caprese salad and added scallops. Again the salad was delicious and the scallops were perfect. Too much food so we missed out on dessert. Cannot wait for our next visit.
Excellent service with disappointing food.
Great food and nice location in the heart of Charlottesville. A little pricey but worth the investment for that special night.

This seems to be an issue with many restaurants these days. They offer top-notch service, with attentive, engaging and courteous servers, but the food is lacking.
Appetizers were quite good, but the main course and dessert lacking. I ordered fillet and creme brulee. Fillet along with veggies were served COLD. It was hard to swallow. Creme brulee tasteless.
