Outstanding the best place so far in Charlottesville. From the minute we walked into the restaurant the service, atmosphere drinks and food were fabulous. Food was interesting great depth of flavor. We also will be back for brunch they have $2 mimosa and the menus looks amazing.
Wow, what an experience!
The food is great, all organic loyally grown and prepared by the cheif who is also the owner. The three stars are for the other owner, the cheif's wife. I have met her and spoken to her briefly during my visits to this restraunt. She does not seem to be very engaging with her guest, and I have over heard her speak sharply with the wait staff. My servers hands are shacking and the owner is staring daggers into her back. They have a high turn over in wait staff for obvious reasons. My tip, don't brow beat your staff and they'll stop quiting on you and your service will improve!
We came early so it wasn't too crowded. Fig has a nice vibe inside and the host and waitresses were extremely nice. The cheese board was excellent! I had a lovely time, however I didn't really enjoy my main course--the pierogi--as much. I would've preferred the sauce be served on top or on the side. I felt the pierogi were absolutely swimming in cream! Overall good experience.
1 chef and 1 Manager/waiter meant that it’s a cosy and relaxed experience - you never waited for anything, the service was exceptional despite the staff of 2.
The food was superb, everything cooked to perfection - with the gluten free chocolate cake one of the best desserts I’d ever had. Very reasonably priced despite the high quality. Already one of my favorite restaurants in the world, just superb!
This is a hidden gem that I’d found online and booked a few weeks before - there are only 12 tables or so, I’d advise to book early as while we were eating many groups were turned away as there was no space left.
Great little place that has very friendly help and some great salads. Really liked the farro, steak, and avocado salad. I would go back there.
