No remorse or concern from the merchant; in fact, my wife was greeted with rudeness from general manager. Not willing to work with us. Was told that we need to take responsibility as consumers that their diagnosis might not have accurate, regardless of the information that they provided.
Never again.
Be wary. This business is not trustworthy.
In sum, while this was a great place for purchasing and having our cars serviced in the past, the quality has declined so gravely over the years that we will certainly be having our remaining two Volvos serviced elsewhere in the Charlottesville area. While I would have enthusiastically recommended them in the past, today I would simply advise you to take your car elsewhere and save yourself the headache...
My wife and I were assured that a repair would fix a recurring problem with her 240. Had gone through a few other potential fixes with Edgecombs and then were told that THIS would do it. Literally suggested other potential issues that were discounted.
In late 2016, they replaced part of the rearview mirror on one of our Volvos but did not have the cover for the back of the mirror they installed. As it was explained to us, they had ordered the wrong kind of replacement mirror. Nonetheless, they promised to order the cover and install it on the car as soon as it arrived. We never heard back from them about having it fixed, and 7 months later, are still sporting a rearview mirror with the cords exposed in the back...
Repair cost was over $900 and did not fix the issue.
Very friendly. In and out for an inspection in a little over an hour. Cute dog, too.
My family has purchased three Volvos from Edgecomb's dating back to the early 2000s, and in general, have been pleased with their performance and longevity over the years. Nonetheless, over the course of the last year, there have been some management/ownership changes and the quality of services ha declined greatly. We most recently had them hang on to one of our family Volvos for two days without ever completing the work - with a scheduled appointment. This was extremely inconvenient as we tend to travel a lot for work and family, and this put us a day behind on a trip to visit an elderly relative and we ultimately had another dealership handle the repairs we needed.
When you walk into the lobby be sure to hold your breath or they will tack on a charge for breathing the air
