I have taken my kids to see Dr. Powers a number of times. She is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and never in a hurry. Does that mean you might spend a few minutes in a the waiting room? Maybe, but when it's your turn, she takes the time to be thorough and explain things to you. I don't generally like going to the doctor, but Dr. Powers is worth seeking out if you need a great ENT.
Dr. Powers is the best! She is knowledgable and efficient with a great bedside-manner. In addition to seeing Dr. Powers myself, I have brought multiple of my children to see her, and my mother loves her as well. Dr. Powers even once came into the office after hours to see my daughter for an emergency when she didn't have to. I would recommend Dr. Powers to anyone in need of an ENT without reservation!
My wife and son came to see Dr. Powers because we were referred to her thinking she could help our son. Dr. Powers was dismissive, belittling, and confrontational. Of course she is entitled to her medical opinion, but her delivery was condescending and demeaning. She rolled her eyes when my wife explained why the neurologist sent us to an ENT...my 13 year old son noticed that special bedside manner. Good job Dr. Powers, hope you feel good about yourself. I can guarantee my son learned a valuable lesson today...never act like you. He will not remember your name 5 years from now, but he will remember the way you made him feel and that you made his mother cry. Karma.
She was awful! Controlling and not kind. I was thinking she was looking at my ear. Instead she inserted the tube without my knowledge and no warning. I cried due to the shock of what was happening. I told her it hurt and I asked for something to numb the pain. She said only babies need to be sedated. I'm currently seeing Dr. Daniero at UVA. I wouldn't send my enemy to her!
