Arrived late so I think we got the last room. We were in the basement and had to haul luggage down the stairs to get there. Nice room, but not cleaned well. Thought breakfast was included, apparently our mistake. Their price for breakfast was a little steep. Fortunately there were good restaurants nearby.
GM look me straight in the face and said that she said buses took only to the game. I love it when somebody disagrees with me and tells me what they said when I was the one they said it to, .... I will be calling HI corp. !
I stay here as a 17 year old kid running in the High School cross country championship n1978. It was a joke then and it is still a joke. Read about remodel and thought we would give it a chance. * * * Don't waste your money * * *
Very nice night staff , made check in pleasant. Had a late check in due to family emergency, very accommodating and attentive. Thanks making our stay nice under stressful circumstances.
This hotel was very accommodating for large groups. The head manager asked multiple times if there was any way that she could cater to our group's stay. I stayed here with my cross country team for the NCAA D1 Regional Championship.
Also what National Hotel chain has a bar, but it's not open at 3or4 in the afternoon (Fri)and again not open at 12:30am when we returned from the game
Stayed there for Virginia - Virginia Tech Friday night game, told by front desk that bus would pick up and bring back till 1 a.m. normally stops after 11pm. Game not over until after buses stop. Stood at bus stop for 40 minutes. Was told by downtown driver, buses do not travel North after 11pm.
Who ever heard of charging twice the normal rate of $99. PAID $205 & NO service provided to/fr game. And to top matters off no continental breakfast. Breakfast self serve @$10

This hotel has helpful staff. It is near a movie theater, grocery stores as well as plenty of restaurants to choose from. The hotel restaurant's breakfast is pretty good and reasonable priced.
