Found the Brown Toyota site online, used their excellent search engine, found a truck i was wanting, asked to be contacted about the availability. Follow up from them was prompt and I began texting with salesperson (Buck) who was very good about answering my questions and was amazingly quick on the turnaround responses. I reserved my vehicle, drove up there from Greensboro and the vehicle was shined like a new penny and ready to go. Buck was professional, friendly and clearly interested in my getting what i needed. We got the transaction done paperwork and all in less than 2 hours including my test drive. (A grateful shout out here to Michael S the finance guru). I returned home in my new to me (previously owned Toyota Tacoma) and a very pleasant 181 miles drive home it was. I am very satisfied with the vehicles handling and appearance and it was exactly as represented in the online ad. I would recommend this dealer and crew to a family member and anyone interested in competent and friendly service whether its a new or used vehicle purchase.
I have to give it to the team at UMANSKY they not only took the time to find what I wanted in my price range but then knowing I was going away for vacation, my salesman, Travis kept in touch with me and kept me up to date with what was going on. Shout out to Mike in financing as well. If it wasn’t for such a welcoming environment and two great men I wouldn’t be the proud own of a beautiful tundra. Thank you guys again!
Best car buying experience in the world! I have been car shopping for over a month, and had the most pleasant stress free service I could have imagined with Umansky Toyota. I had the honor of working with Rev Tom Smith, bought my first car on his last day of work. Thank you to everyone yesterday, you were all amazing! Thank you to Mike in finance also for your patience in explaining all the paperwork. The car I bought wasn't my dream car, but it's going to get me through (financially) until I can get the one I really want, and when the day comes to car shop again, Umansky Toyota is where I will be going first!
I'm disappointed that what is now Umansky can't keep scheduled appointments and can't even meet the bare minimum for their customers, let alone any extra effort to customer service. I will not be back for routine service at this location.
I picked my vehicle today. I received no acknowledgement of the inconvenience, and there was clearly no effort to go above and beyond to serve customers. From my understanding, the back seats needed to be taken out of the van for the recall; it would have been nice to run the vacuum over the back. The sundries that I keep in the front console area had been dumped on the floor of the passenger seat.
Subsequently, I took the van to another shop in town who was able to resurface the rotors and replace the pads for HALF the price quoted at Umansky. No new rotors required.
Finally, I scheduled a visit a few weeks ago for a recall and another oil change tire/rotation. This visit was when the problems really began... When I scheduled, I said (as I always do) that I needed to pick up my vehicle no later than 3:00. At drop off, they told me there was no way everything could get done by that time and that I'd have to reschedule the recall. I was annoyed, but it didn't seem like a big deal at the time. However, I got a call a few hours later to let me know that I needed new rotors and pads on both the front and the back of the van. Given that I had asked them to inspect the brakes at the two prior visits, I was surprised that everything was so far gone as to need total replacement.
After several years of reliable service from Brown Toyota, I have been routinely disappointed in several recent visits. Perhaps the new ownership is coincidental, but the timing seems to indicate a likely correlation. I took my Toyota Sienna in for a routine oil change and tire rotation over the summer. The brakes had started to "shimmy," so I asked the service receptionist to ask the mechanic to take a look. At pickup, I was assured that the brakes were fine.
At a visit for state inspection about 6 weeks later, I again asked them to look at the brakes and was again told that everything was fine.
To close out my most recent interaction with Umansky: I took my van in for the recall appointment on a Friday. I had scheduled the appointment several weeks prior, again indicating that I needed to pick it up by 3. I was told that should be fine because it's typically a 6-hour service.
The best dealership I've ever dealt with!! Del the salesman had everything ready and waiting before we walked in the door and Mike the financial director was amazing!! It felt like we were meeting up with old friends laughs and good times but you know they have your back!!! The entire team at Brown's Toyota are exceptional very friendly upbeat and go out of their way to say hello All around BEST dealership experience I've ever had!!
At drop off, I was told (again) that it couldn't be completed by 3:00, and could not even be guaranteed by close of business that day. After some back and forth, they finally agreed to give me a rental car. No word from Umansky all day Friday. Or Saturday. Or MONDAY! I called Monday afternoon and was told by one representative that the van was ready, but then received a call about 30 minutes later that it wouldn't be done until around 11:00 on Tuesday. The service representative simply said that they had a lot of recalls scheduled on the same days, so it took a long time. (Why schedule appointments if you can't keep them?)
