Both times I've stayed here have been nice. The rooms are clean with most standard amenities. There's a pool and plenty of parking and the staff have been quite nice. I took a star off because this time we're on the fourth floor facing the street and the hallway outside (basically a very long, shared balcony) is slanted creepily toward the street. Also the water in the shower weirdly fluctuates from very hot to luke warm a couple of times per shower. Everything else is pretty great though.
It was fine. Utilitarian. It would be nice if they mentioned that there was breakfast. And the public spaces are tired. But the rooms were clean and the place was convenient.
This is a nice little hotel with a lot of character... Reminds me of New Orleans... The rooms are basic but clean and the beds are comfortable. You can't beat the price or the location right next to Grounds. The staff is super friendly and there is free breakfast.
Affordable, and conveniently located in university of Virginia campuses. Check-in was quick. Staff throughout my whole stay was excellent (Stay 2nights, 3 days). Breakfast selection had a nice variety. Also liked that they had space for one to eat breakfast downstairs, should they want. Room was a nice size to. In the room they had a table, mini fridge, microwave, tv, a safe for valuables, iron & iron board. I did have a little problem, in my bathroom tub was a residue stain. Management had it taken care of immediately upon receipt of hearing about the problem. They even offered to move me into another room, should I not be satisfied enough, but I didn't need to move. It was a quick fix that the staff took care of. I had a nice stay overall, and would recommend to others.
Our king room was not made up when we checked in and we got put into a queen room that night that had a dead roach on the bathroom floor. The staff person offered us a discount for out first night as we were trying to check in since the room was not ready, but when we checked out, they could not give us a discount because we had booked through Expedia. We will need to call a manager to see what she can do. The second day our room did not get serviced at all. Staff was nice. Location great.
